Thanks for the restoring the registry tip; that's the one that worked.<br />
The microsoft knowledgebase is worse than useless. Yesterday I could not even get in all day, but today their<br />
site was finally up again and I did a search. Nothing regarding the problem I have. The three links mimiscu gives<br />
are red herrings. The problem WAS the registry, but from microsoft's information we'd never know it.

After installing new software (Coreldraw 11) my system will no longer boot normally, but only in safe mode. When I try to boot normally, I get the above cited error message, (while initializing device IOS: real mode system memory allocation failed) and after that nothing further happens until I press ctrl alt del and reboot the system.<br />
I have tried other system startups but cannot find the culprit for this behavior. Can you help me?
