Email attachment icons missing - XP Pro and Notes 4.6.7

I just installed Notes 4.6.7 on an XP Pro workstation, and my attachments in email show no icon (not just a grey one) for many types of files, such as all Office docs and PDFs.
Upgrading is not an option.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? I assume that this version of Notes is looking for info from XP on icons in a place that no longer exists. Some icons do work however, for a couple of programs that have been installed since the XP install.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. This is more an annoyance than anything else, but other users may miss my attachments because they do not see an icon - just the attachment name in a small font.
Thanks!

4.6.7 on XP is not a supported configuration.. YOu should have atleast 5.0.10 on XP.. You will get into pits with older release of notes on new OS

~Hemanth
Only workaround if you are not planning on upgrade .. degrade OS to win 2k/98
It sounds like you copied over program from an old system to a new XP system without running the programs' installers.  The nstaller registers the icons in the system registry.  This is the same for 95, 98, Me, NT, 2k, 2k3, and XP.

So, please reinstall the program.

(You may be able to get away with just designating which program is theprimary application for the extension.)

Thanks, but degrading OS is not an option either.
I realize that it is not supported, however this is what I am stuck with.
Does anyone know where Lotus Notes 4.6.7 looks to determine the icons?
I have this config working properly on an XP Pro workstation with Notes 4.6, but with Office 2000 and Acrobat 5.
My workstation has Acrobat 6 and Office 2003, which seems to be causing the problem.
As I mentioned, not all attachments do not get icons.
Thanks again.
Nope, it was a clean install.
