My first question is - Is dump a good way to backup MySQL database?<br />

My second question is - I want to backup my whole system (Redhat 9.0) with dump to an extra HD. I want to backup it everyday and I want to keep at least 6 months data in that HD (the HD is big enough). Could anyone give me an setup example?<br />

My last question is - Could anyone please give me a detailed procedure about how to recover from dump backup?<br />
