Basic network games for 2 home PCs

Hi,
I've just setup two home pcs on a network (x-over cable)
As the second PC is fairly basic (pentuim 133 50Mbs ram) i'm after some basic network games, maybe downloads from the internet where i can play across two home pcs, not the internet.
Any sorts of games.

Si..
Cheers

The original Doom ran quite nicely on a 486DX/33, and Quake was also optimised for Pentium, so either of these old stalwarts should work fine on your systems.

Sure, but i was after non 3d type games
Because i know people who throw up through motion sickness with these first person type games (not me, i love 'em).
Any games like shareware ones.?

Thanks for trying though
total annihalation or starcraft are good ones for real time strat, diablo and diablo 2 are good for role playing, there are other games like clue or monoploy that you could get also.
The first ones  you said arn't shareware.
Diablo 2 on a p133, i think not.
Any one know of a link to 'Non internet multiplayer shareware games'
Answer this=get points

hmm..have you tried searching through CNET and Tucows?  and the Super Shareware Directory?

If you havent I'll do it for you..I need points :)

Super shareware dir?
Basically if a game says ipx and it doesn't require a 3d card and it'll work on a p133 its ok for me.
What i'd really like is a racing game viewed in plan where you see the whole track at once for two players over an ipx network.

yeah..

ok I'll have a search for you tomorrow.  (Today's fathers day..have no time)

you know ipx is a pretty new network codec

I'm moer likely to find ya tcp/ip stuff.  Will that be ok?  You'd just need to type in the ip address of the host computer (you know, like in doom)
are you open to abandonware?
Ipx has been around years
Abandonware????
I know these games arn't sareware but they can be picked up for a few $. If you have the $80 to set up network you can find $15 for the following great network games:

1. Theme Hospital.
2. Worms 2.
3. NFS IIse
A good "eye-candy" game is the free demo version of Re-Volt.  It's at www.intel.com/anypoint/software/index.htm.  (You can tune it down to play on a P133; it will want to use the IPX/SPX protocol - which is easy to install if you haven't already.)

Also (I'm sure you know this, but just in case), Microsoft Hearts can be played over the network: Start > Programs > Accessories > Games > Hearts.
have a look at www.winfiles.com.
plenty of everything there including games and im sure that there are many that you can use across the network.
happy hunting :-o
