Enabling QoS On A Cisco 1720 Router
What would the config look like if I wanted to prioritize traffic for port 1720 over all other traffic? I have a 4 channel phone system running across a T1 that I wanna make sure takes priority over all other traffic. I don't want it to use all of the bandwith available but maybe 3/4.

It's actually doing VoIP. It's a software based phone system.

I will need to implement this on both routers as the traffic is going across a point-to-point T1 between office.

Quick question, out of curiosity only:
What happens if a user on your software-based phone system dials 911?

Lmoore, Good point. phreakin, Are you bridging to a PBX at some point or are you just trying to avoid tolls between offices and using a PBX in parallel?

It goes to 911 through the t1 for the phones. My dilema is I have an office at Point A that is connected to Point B with a Cisco 1720 router through a point-to-point T1. Point A's phone traffic goes over this connection to Point B and then either stays internal or get's routed externally via a T1. I need to make sure that Point A's phone traffic to Point B, which uses port 1730, has priority over any other data.
I would read through the excellent link that Lmoore has provided you with. There are several ways to control traffic on current Cisco IOS, Modular QOS (my example), traffic shaping, and CAR. CAR is probably not appropriate, but the other solutions are potentially valid.

Any progress made here?

Since the voice and data are separated outside the router, there is no configuration required on the router to provide traffic prioritization.
If you have an IP-based phone system and want to dedicate bandwidth for voice over the T1 WAN link, check these VoIP support issues:
