A good programme for preventing Hacking into your System is Zonealarm
http://www.zonelabs.com/
More important, It's Free for Personal Use!

Well basically  a hacker is someone who masters the innerworkings of operating systems and utilities in an effort to better understand them. A cracker is someone who uses his or her ability and knowledge of operating systems and utilities to intentionally damage or destroy data or systems.

To protect your system and yourself from being a victim of a cracker or hacker is to never disclose your details over the internet if you don't need to, install a firewall on your computer, it takes a long time before the firewall is configured to your personal touch. Regularly scan your hard drive for viruses and obtain the lastest virus definitions from wherever the site is from the internet, usually symantec.com or mcafee.com. No matter how secure you think you are from being attacked by a hacker/ cracker you can always rest assured that firewalls will protect you from some sort of attack but not all kinds
Actually if you take a look at some of the questions that s_s_r has asked, you will notice a leaning toward hacking questions.  They are not "how to prevent" questions, but "how to do" questions.  I wonder if the mods will agree.
s_s_r, please clarify your question, it unclear to me whether you want to Hack or prevent Hacking.  To use the Work Hack in a question we cannot accept in the context it is being asked.

I will forward this to Admin.

Since ther was no answer from the user for the purpose, it seems there is no defense he/she has to offer for us to cull it out or leave it.

As it stands today, it is now pending deletion unless I hear from the User today.  Only an good explination from s_s_r can keep it from deletion

Sorry, I was not in the station. That's why i could not able to post my comment earlier. If you see my previous questions in this forum you can see my knowledge in computers. I don't have any intention of hacking. I just wanted to learn how to prevent hacking. Now i've bought a book about this. Unofficial guide to ethical Hacking.

Thanks all for their comments.
The question may be spurious, but the Title "prevent hacking"  is rather clear, and the few comments I scanned were likewise clear concerning prevention. Good folk in HW TA?

This is far unlike the Security TAs, where a small handful of "experts" continually (preach) post several pages of links to help students, or first time users, to break into their teachers' computers for thousands of points per post, whether asker awards or not, whether asker requests the list of breakin utilities or not, claiming they are supported by official discussions with ee.
(fyi, this is link that brough tme here: http://oldlook.experts-exchange.com/questions/20773636/Have-I-been-hacked.html)
I agree that there was no need to delete the 'prevention' comments above.
