Kazaa

Hi,
Can you please help me in blocking Kazaa on my LAN....or is it that p2p applications like Kazaa can't be blocked...I tried using Port range blocking on Gateway..but it didn't help...

Try to uninstall Kazaa.

Mmm...there's more. Go to the p2p networking option that Kazaa installed on your control panel. There, you should find options on controlling Kazaa, or the remnants of it, if you have uninstalled it.
How many PCs are on your LAN....?
kazaa uses ip addresses from natelia network server (not sure what that is) look at your log do searchs with kazza and note what what ip it is comunicats with , block those ips on your firewall and people will not be able to use kazaa at least they will get so frusterated with it they willl stop using it lol also block port 1214
I don't know what firewall you are using but with most firewall's you can select what programs may use the internet and what programs are denied access to the www.

I know that u have that choise with zonealarm.

The new Kazaa using port 80 to download and port 1214 to upload, so you need a package program to sort the kazaa packages from the internet packages, i only heard the program is for *nix :\
